JOTA - Jamboree On The Air
Where: House on the Hill, Hillhead Road

Our friends at the Angel of the North Amateur Radio Club have agreed to help us put on Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) again this year and will take place on Saturday 20th October at at House on the Hill, Hillhead Road.

Last year Cubs, Scouts and Explorers made contact with Scouts in around 10 different countries! The format involves groups having a 2 hour slot and they rotate around several different bases where the radio club members help them through the requirements for the communicator badge for Cubs/Scouts including using the radio equipment to speak to one of many others Scouts across the world taking part. Beavers/Explorers can take part for the JOTA element but no specific activity badge for the section. There is a JOTA blanket badge available for all participants.
