Campfire in Memory of Jo
Where: House on The Hill, Hillhead Road, Westerhope.

As news is gradually travelling throughout the District and County, Jo Gardiner (Connaboy) unfortunately passed away on the 31st July, as she had such a large impact within 18th Newcastle, the District and the wider County, we felt something was required to commemorate her Scouting life.

So, on the 10th of September we will be holding a campfire at House on the Hill (Hillhead Road) where we will bring together the Scouting family to celebrate the life of our beloved GSL and City of Newcastle District Commissioner, Jo Gardiner (Connaboy). This will be a chance for everyone who Jo has crossed paths with in Scouting to come together, have a sing song and we will also put on some food.
The event is open to anyone inside or outside of 18th Newcastle, from District, County or otherwise.
This is an event for parents/adults to stay at, it will be very busy and we will not be able to look after the Young People on this evening.
We are going to have buckets out on the night to raise money to
Newcastle Peace Walk
Where: Hindu Temple, West Road

The Newcastle Peace Walk will take place this year on Sunday September 15th starting at the Hindu Temple on the West Road at 11am . The group will then visit the Venerable Bede Church, Newcastle Mosque and the site of the first Synagogue in Newcastle before finishing at the Gurdwara, Cottenham Street, at around 3.30pm.

It is open to all - including those with no faith - the walk aims to unite the different communities and religions in Newcastle together and promote peace, tolerance and understanding.

Family and friends are also encouraged to join us.

This is a great event that West End groups have attended before - but we would like to make this a District Event this year - it would be brilliant to see many groups from the whole city represented.
